I am thankful...

So I am a little behind on the Thanksgiving post, but i feel compelled to do a little "thankful" post after doing the "venting" post.
So here goes...

I am thankful for:
1) My husband who can cook. He did the Thanksgiving turkey and the stuffing for my family's dinner. He is also good at his job, good with the kids, and good to me. Thanks, Honey!
2) My kids who make me smile. Despite all the challenges that children bring to life, I cant imagine life without them because they bring so much joy and laughter to our home.
3) Extended family. I have to work a part time job to help make ends meet, but I couldn't do it without the help of Lehi's family and my mom. I am also grateful to live so close to grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, and even great-grandparents and we truly miss those who do not live close by.
4) The Gospel. I should probably have made this number 1 because nothing else would matter as much without it, but I am grateful it is a part of my life.
5) All the other physical things that make life comfortable, including our house, cars, beds to sleep in, a table to eat at, you get the picture.
6) A generally healthy family. I may complain a bit about the minor health issues that we have had to deal with, but I am truly grateful that we dont have anything serious going on with our health at this time in our lives.

And while I am posting, I have a picture of Tai and a story to go with it--just for fun.

So we have been trying to potty train Tai, but he has been very stubborn. He will go an entire day in underwear with no accidents but the next day refuse to even try to go. As an incentive I bought him some Iron Man underwear because he has been into Iron Man a ton lately. Well my plan backfired slightly because instead of wearing his underwear as it was intended, he decided that the underwear makes a great Iron Man mask...

A little venting

I try not to complain about my problems too much 'cause I know there are so many people out there with bigger problems than mine, but I feel I need to vent a little--perhaps writing about it may prove to be therapeutic.

My poor baby Jasmyn seems to endure one ailment after another. Starting at birth, she failed her hearing test, so we had her retested several times along with a couple visits to an Ear, nose, and throat specialist only to find out an ear infection was preventing accurate results for the hearing test. Then when she was 3 months old Jasmyn got RSV and bronchiolitis along with asthma that continued to affect her well into her 6th month (when, thankfully, warm weather provided us with a much needed break from any colds or other bugs that triggers the asthma). As cold weather season got nearer I started bracing myself for more of the breathing-related problems that Jasmyn seemed susceptible to. Instead I get strep 3 times in 3 months and Jayda ends up with a cold that causes her asthma to flare up. In the mean time I pray that Jasmyn doesn't get catch any of the bugs going around in our home which, thankfully, she hasn't yet besides another ear infection that could not be treated by just one round of antibiotics. But, about a week ago I bought Jasmyn a cute little pink beanie to keep her head warm in preparation for the forecasted cold weather. I put it on her and she broke out in hives around her face and hairline. So now she is allergic to acrylic fabric. So anything with acrylic causes an outbreak including her coat which before the beanie incident did not seem to have an affect on her. Now I am uncharacteristically (for me) aware of what all of our clothes are made of. GRRRRR! Okay. I am done. But unfortunately I am sure our problems are not. But as Elder Holland said (perhaps not in so many words) recently at a stake meeting in our area "Get over yourself--you signed up for this, Jesus suffered waaaay more than you. Stop whining and deal with it." Or something pretty close to that.
