So, when both of your kids love water, bathtime can take up a pretty good chunk of your day. Jayda could spend an hour or more in the tub if I would let her (she is old enough now I dont feel like I have to stay "within arm's reach" when she is in the tub) and Tai seems to enjoy the water as well, so I have been spending more time tub-side letting him play in the tub. Today I decided to try to put my little fish/children in the tub together to see how they do. Of course, they had a blast!
We have had various family and friends tell us that Tai's hair looks a bit like a mohawk. It's just the way it is naturally growing in--thick and darker in the middle, and lighter and thinner on the sides. So one day I decided to make it official--a spikey mohawk. Cute, huh? Lehi even offered to shave the sides all the way off, but I decided that would be going a little too far. You lucked out for now, Tai.
We went swimming on the 4th of July instead of doing fireworks (we already saw a fireworks show the weekend before for Taylorsville Dayz. Tai was completely mesmerized by the fireworks, and Jayda spent the whole time with her hands over her ears and her eyes shut saying "they are too loud, I don't want to watch them"--which surprised me because they have never bothered her at all in the past. But we might try it again for Pioneer Day on the 24.) This was Tai's first swimming pool experience, and though he likes water and baths, I dont know if he quite knew what to think about this giant tub of cold water. Well, the temperature wasn't so bad, but poor Tai was shivering after about 5 minutes of pool fun.
Lehi is a great artist--Here is one of the many sketches he has done.

Jayda's Corner:
Jayda is an outgoing 6 year old, able to befriend all types of personalities. Our big first grader loves reading and writing stories. She wants to be an author and a librarian when she grows up. She also loves singing and performing--especially when it is one of the songs she wrote. She is a soccer player, a gymnast, a dancer, and a swimmer. She still loves Superman and tells us she wants to marry him someday (he is a common character in many of the stories that she writes). She loves her new baby sister, Jasmyn, and has been such a wonderful helper with her and Tai.
Jayda's Masterpiece
Jayda loves to draw...she especially likes to draw crowns to make them princes and princesses.
Jayda Potato Head
Tai's Turf
Tai is the middle child in our family. One outstanding feature that Tai has is his unnaturally long eyelashes. At the hospital, Tai was famous. Nurses would come in to Jen's hospital room and instead of using her name, she would be referred to as the mother of the long-lashed baby. He is now an energetic 2 year old and a total mama's boy. You will hardly see him without a toy car/motorcycle/train in his hand. Often you will catch him belting out a rendition of Queens "We will, we will...ROCK YOU" or "I like to move it, move it" from Madagascar. On the more sensitive side, he is always the first to offer to say a family prayer at the dinner table or before bed.

About Jasmyn
Jasmyn is the newest addition to our family. She adores and is adored by her older brother and sister. She has deep dark brown eyes that seem to constantly be checking out her surroundings. She is already quite the little teaser--her sense of humor is always coming out. She is also a little copycat. She mimics sounds and, my favorite, she "sings" along whenever one of us is singing.
